The Shoes Bed and Breakfast

The Shoes Bed And Breakfast

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Shoes was opened by Lynne and Billy in May 2008 - after many years working in the licensed trade and running restaurants and bars including bed and breakfast properties, we decided it was time to invest in our own property and found the perfect location and property when the shoes came up for sale.

Formerley known as The Three Horseshoes located in Gilesgate Durham. The property has undergone extensive renovation including a fully refurbished bar -beer garden - kitchen and last but not least - 3 luxurious letting bedrooms.

Our three luxurious bedrooms are tastefully furnished and are finished to the highest standards. Each bedroom has en-suite shower and WC facilities.

Durham Attractions

Durham is a compact city yet offers a wide range of facilities. A good range of shops and restaurants co-exist happily with the Victorian Market.

Much of Durham's shopping area is closed to traffic, making for a more relaxed atmosphere. Take time to sit in the cobbled Market Place and enjoy some of the street entertainment, particularly during July and August.

The monthly Farmers' Market is a welcome new addition to the events calendar. Here you will find fresh local specialties to take back home. In the Spring and Summer, stunning floral displays adorn the City for which Durham regularly wins prizes.

Durham Cathedral is the greatest Norman building in England, perhaps even in Europe; It is cherished not only for its architecture but also for its incomparable setting.

For this reason it was inscribed together with the Castle as one of Britain's first World Heritage Sites. In a nationwide BBC poll held in 2001 it was voted the nation's best-loved building. Like Hadrian's Wall and the Angel of the North, it is an icon of north-east England, its image is instantly recognisable to people who love this part of Britain.

MetroCentre is Europe's largest shopping and leisure centre and it has everything you could possibly need for the perfect day out.

MetroCentre, located in Gateshead, three miles south west of Newcastle Upon Tyne, has some brands that cannot be found anywhere else in the North East or indeed in the UK.

Nowhere in Europe have you got more retailers, restaurants and leisure attractions for your complete enjoyment. With almost 330 shops including major department stores such as Debenhams, House of Fraser and Marks & Spencer, MetroCentre has something for everyone.
